O primeiro documento público da Fraternidade Rosacruz Clássica de que se tem notícia é a Fama Fraternitatis Rosae Crucis, publicada na Alemanha em 1614.
Naquela
época, esse manifesto causou profunda comoção em torno da origem dessa
sociedade, sua história e segredos, e influenciou decisivamente o
pensamento de ilustres como Descartes, Leibnitz e Goethe.
Sua
autoria é, geralmente, atribuída a Johannes Valentinus Andreae,
eminente erudito e preceptor de nobres, que devotou sua vida ao estudo
dos mistérios universais.
Além do texto integral da Fama,
a presente edição traz também, pela primeira vez, uma abordagem
